Nature’s Healing

I came across a family of white tailed deer on a recent early morning walk.

Nature” is what we see—
The Hill—the Afternoon—
Squirrel—Eclipse—the Bumble bee—
Nay—Nature is Heaven—
Nature is what we hear—
The Bobolink—the Sea—
Thunder—the Cricket—
Nay—Nature is Harmony—
Nature is what we know—
Yet have no art to say—
So impotent Our Wisdom is
To her Simplicity.

~Emily Dickinson

Is it truly August already? The temperature gauge affirms that indeed it is! We have had such a long stretch of 90°+ temps with high dew points, resulting in “real feel” temps of 100°+. We are also experiencing a severe drought here in CT. Needless to say, I have spent the majority of my time stuck indoors with the AC over the past few weeks. I very much miss nature’s calm, healing touch. She feels rather harsh these days and out of sorts. Thankfully, the weather forecast is providing some hope with the heat and humidity to break over the next two days. I look forward to spending more time outdoors seeing and hearing and breathing deep of nature’s healing harmony.

Here are a few pics from the last couple weeks when I was able to get out for a little bit, despite the heat.

Even Teddy hasn’t been thrilled about going for his midday walk.
