Morning Meditation

 

“...so Jesus hides out with the crucified ones. He is found wherever the pain is found. Jesus is always loyal to human suffering, more than to any group or religion. That is where we will meet him. Thus he is what mythology calls a shape-shifter, and no one seeking power can use him for their private purposes. He is found in what Mother Theresa (1910-1997) called God’s ‘most distressing disguise’.

Those whose hearts are opened to human pain will see Jesus everywhere, and he will seduce them from that vulnerable place. This is God’s hiding place, so only the humble will find him.”
